Dessert Mixes

COUNTRY CRISP MIX for APPLES & PEACHES Apple and Peach Crisp has been a favorite of country families all over this country, probably since Johnny Appleseed made his famous journey across this nation. At harvest time almost every home smelled of apples or peaches and cinnamon. But people who fondly remember homemade desserts now need the convenience of today's easy mixes. Country Crisp Mix gives you both. Country Crisp Mix topping is made with a blend of wholesome grains and spices, that, when combined with apples or peaches, and baked bring back memories of happy holidays, family get-togethers and warm safety of Grandma's kitchen. It is so easy to make that it takes literally a few minutes to prepare it. Peel and slice apples, melt butter, mix with topping mix, spread on apples and its in the oven. Since it bakes for an hour, it's ready when you're finishing dinner. Cool a few minutes and top with vanilla ice cream. Country Crisp Mix can be used with other fruits too. And check our recipe page for a granola-type cookie made with Country Crisp Mix. Crisp can be baked loose on a cookie sheet and then used to sprinkle on ice cream. Peach Crisp | Apple Crisp
APPLE CAKE This delicious cake is so easy to make that you don't even peel the apples. Macs or Cortlands or any other fresh baking apple make this cake sooo-- moist. Finish this wonderful dessert with a dollop of whipped cream and it will be a hit whether it's the kids' little league team, Dad's football buddies or Aunt Penelope over for Sunday dinner. APPLE CAKE
NANA'S SCONES Our Nana's Scones are a delightful cross between a biscuit and a cake. Nana, who was from Grimsby, an English seaport on the North Sea, liked our lighter version of her homeland's favorite. The kids will like them too, even if they don't have frosting! NANA'S SCONES
SNICKERDOODLES These delightful little sugar cookies have a dusting of cinnamon and are easy enough for everyone to help bake, even the little ones. They love to roll the little balls of dough in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. And, of course, they love to help eat them warm from the oven with milk. An elderly neighbor, Evelina, baked Snickerdoodles for us in an old, highly polished, cast iron stove. It doesn't get any better! SNICKERDOODLES
SHORTNIN' BREAD Do you remember how the song goes? "Momma's little baby loves shortnin' shortnin' Momma's little baby loves shortnin' bread."
